After practice we headed to the usual breakfast spot, Anoehki Garden, where I had my usual, fruit salad and crepes. I have altered my crepe order a little. Rather than both crepes having salted caramel sauce I now get one of those and one with lemon curd. Somehow we managed to spend almost 4 hours at Anoehki today.
After extended breakfast we headed back to the apartment for a few lazy hours before Sunday afternoon conference at the shala. Sharath's son and daughter joined their dad on stage while he spoke to us. Indian children are so cute. Conference was not very long. Only a few people asked questions, maybe next week people will feel less nervous to ask questions.
The regular dinner place is closed on Sundays so Kevin and I decided to try a new place, Green Leaf, it was recommended by another yoga student. It was pouring rain so we hopped in a rickshaw. I ordered a masala dosa and samosa. Waiter said no samosas. Kevin ordered a fried potato thing with no spice so the waiter told him he should get "finger chips" if he wanted no spice. K also wanted an order of naan. Waiter said no naan, it takes too long. Not sure why we couldn't just wait, it's not like we have anything else to do. So his finger chips show up and it was just French fries. Then 5 minutes later an Indian family receives an order of naan bread. WTF? Naan for them but not for us?
K then spent several minutes haggling with a rickshaw driver over 5 rupees (that's about 25 cents). The driver wanted more because it was raining. In the end K won and we got the ride for 25 rupees.
This is my masala dosa. It is a rice and lentil pancake with a potato and vegetable curry mixture inside. It wasn't great. Thankfully Tina's will be open for dinner tomorrow.
